The Technical Standards Committee (TSC) for Bitcoin SV (BSV) is looking for individuals with skills in governance, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and relationship building, compliance, finance and research experience, as well as strong leadership skills and a keen interest in process-driven activities.
The TSC is the governing body overseeing the development of technical standards for the Bitcoin SV blockchain. This is an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals to join a high-standard international committee and make impactful contributions to the BSV ecosystem.
The TSC is responsible for promoting technical excellence and improving the utility of BSV by enhancing interoperability through standardisation. The TSC brings together industry experts from around the world to develop global standards for the BSV ecosystem and ensure that these standards are maintained and freely available. The committee also works to professionalise the development of BSV, ensures interoperability between systems, and enhances the credibility of solutions built on BSV from the perspective of auditors, regulators, insurers, and clients. Additionally, the TSC encourages the development of certification schemes, fosters business growth, infers market signalling from proposals, and has international reach.
Essentially, the TSC functions as a forum in which the interests of the entire BSV ecosystem are represented and are to be cast into technical standards. Therefore, diverse backgrounds for the role of new members are interesting and welcomed. Apart from a sufficient knowledge of technical standards and blockchain technology, very different soft skills are therefore desirable.
The committee members are expected to regularly attend and actively participate in TSC online monthly meetings, attend up to two in-person meetings annually, sponsor relevant working groups, complete governance activities, and act in an ambassadorial role for the TSC. Desirable experience and attributes include strong technical knowledge of blockchain, experience in a strategic role, experience in standards development, commitment to building business, time and interest to take one or more standards or governance projects, deep understanding of the latest trends and developments in the BSV ecosystem, ability to commit time to attend the TSC governance meetings in person, and proficiency in the English language.
Responsibilities include assessing standards submissions, recommending or withdrawing published standards, attending committee meetings and contributing to decisions, providing strategic advice in developing the technical standards programme and helping to improve awareness of these standards.
You can apply using the application form available on the Technical Standards Committee’s official website on the recruitment campaign. The deadline for applications is March 9, 2023, 11.59pm and those who are selected to progress to the next stage will be asked to join a short online interview with the nominating committee. A second round of interviews may also be held at the committee’s discretion, with applicants being notified of the outcome within seven days following the interview.
If you are interested in joining the TSC, please read the role description and information pack that you can find on the website carefully. Applications must be submitted no later than 9 March 2023 11.59pm UTC. The TSC is looking forward to receiving your application!v
